Mascara review: Mirenesse Instant Lash Transplant Eyelash Lengthening Kit
The concept is simple: the Mirenesse Instant Lash Transplant Eyelash Lengthening Kit is a three-step process designed to give you longer lashes. I love that this is a mascara system that I can do myself, because I think that eyelash extensions are trouble for me (they irritate my eyes too much). I bought the kit for AU$49.95 at Priceline – this is apparently the sale price, the RRP according to the website is AU$89.50. On sale it is pricier than some branded mascaras but still reasonably affordable. Was it worth the investment?
The packaging is nice and compact, with two tubes inside – the black ‘transplant gel’ and the white ‘eyelash fibers’ – plus an eyelash comb/brush. All you have to do is apply the transplant gel to your eyelashes, then the fibres (before the gel dries) and coat again with the transplant gel to set. You can repeat as necessary. Use the eyelash comb/brush to groom your lovely long lashes.
As I said, simple. It doesn’t take me any longer than my usual mascara routine.
But what about those fiddly white fibres?
Yep, during my first application some of the fibres did get into my eye. It was like having an eyelash in there — it was uncomfortable but not unbearably irritating. The formula is water-soluble so they were easily flushed out, no fuss. I quickly got used to the application and managed to do my other eye without any dramas.
Did I notice any difference? I sure did. I’m quite happy with the results, given the ease of use. Check out these photos:
I finished the look by applying my usual mascara to the tips as well as to my bottom lashes. Not sure if it does anything, I just felt like trying it to see if I could get some volume on top of the length. However, the Mirenesse Lash Transplant kit also comes in ‘Volumising’.
Would I buy it again? Yes, if it was on sale.
